Barbara Para

It is with great sadness that we report the loss of one of our members this past week.  Barbara Para died Tuesday due to injuries sustained in her and her husbands plane crash at Siler City Municipal Airport.  Her husband Fred, who was piloting the plane, is still hospitalized and is expected to recover.

There will be no services until Fred can make a decision. He's had multiple surgeries and was in ICU. His prognosis is pretty good.

Barbara was an excellent CFII, Ninety-Nine, Pilot and Member par excellence.  Cause of the crash is, as always, to be determined based on detailed investigation by FAA/NTSB.  Barbara had conducted thousands of hours of flight training and volunteered hundreds of hours of her time at flight instruction seminars and clinics, so this is an especially horrible loss to the Club and the aviation community.

Let's all keep Fred and his family in our thoughts during this difficult time.
